- CHANGES TO BRITISH NATIONALITY LAW -
(effective dates: 28 June 2022. For Chagossians 23 November 2022 ):
Are you or someone you know affected and may benefit from this change?
(1) If you are a Father born or settled in any British overseas territory and have a child or children born out-of-wedlock before 1 July 2006, or you are a child now and adult of a BOTC born/naturalized father.
(2) Previously denied the right to register and pass down (by descent) your British overseas territories BOTC/British citizenship

Also:
(1) If you are a child ) now an adult) born abroad (not the UK) before 1 January 1983 to a Mother born or settled in any British overseas territory.
(2) Previously denied to right to register and pass down British overseas territories (BOTC)/British citizenship (by descent)

If you meet the criteria, your child/children can now apply to be registered and go on to obtain a British overseas territory & British passport.
