Foreign Affairs Committee Evidence Sessions - UK Gov't Must Do Some Ironing Out for British &...

UK & British Overseas Territories Government's Listen up!

It's time to iron out these ongoing hurtful historical anomalies in the British Nationality Act 1981 which continue to discriminate against illegitimate children, now adults, born abroad, between 1948 to 2006, who are of descent to unmarried British Overseas Territories (BOT) fathers. The discrimination only applies to the male line, not to BOT mothers.

Video clips of evidence sessions by stakeholders:

12 December 2018

Lord Tariq Ahmed, Minister of State for the Commonwealth, Responsible for British Overseas Territories & Ben Merrick, Director of Overseas Territories at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

(with Mike Gapes MP & Chairperson Tom Tugendaht MP.)

5 December 2018

Hon. Victor Banks, Chief Minister of Anguilla.
